Hear from the Planning Matters Alliance Tasmania (PMAT) about how the Liberal Government’s proposed statewide planning scheme will impact you and your beautiful east coast environment.

We will highlight local east coast issues with talks and discussion on planning for the future, including on water, food security, fire prevention and biodiversity.

WHY PLANNING MATTERS

Planning affects every land title in Tasmania – your home, your neighbour’s house, your local shops, schools and parks. Planning shapes our cities, towns, coastal and rural landscapes, building strong, thriving, healthy sustainable communities.

PMAT is a growing network of nearly 50 community groups from across Tasmania, including 13 from the East Coast: Beaumaris Action Network, Freycinet Action Network, Friends of Four Mile Creek, Friends of the Blue Tier, North East Bioregional Network, Seymour Community Action Group, Earth Ocean Network (Bicheno), Swansea Group, The Tasmanian Wilderness Society, Let’s Grow Tasmania’s Future, Marine Protection Tasmania, St Helens Point Progress Association, and Bay of Fires Coastal Preservation Lobby.
