#SCRAPTheDAP Public Meeting. 06 March 2024, 1:10 pm, Hobart Town Hall

Wednesday, 06 March 2024
1:10 pm
Hobart Town Hall – 50 Macquarie Street, Hobart

The Liberals want to remove planning appeal rights and introduce a developer friendly development assessment and approval process for developments, not only across all Tasmania’s private/urban land, but also in our World Heritage Areas, National Parks and reserves.

It is critical for transparency and good planning checks and balances are in place to ensure property developers and the government are kept to account. The DAPs put all this at risk.

Guest Speakers:

John Dowson – President, Fremantle Society, former Deputy Mayor and Councillor, City of Fremantle, WA.

Dr Phillipa McCormack – Adjunct Lecturer in Law, University of Tasmania & researcher with the University of Adelaide with expertise in environmental regulation & administrative law.

Alice Hardinge – Tasmanian Campaigns Manager, Wilderness Society Tasmania.

Anja Hilkemeijer – Lecturer in law at the University of Tasmania, with a focus on foundations of public law, constitutional law and human rights law.

Mayor Anna Reynolds – Lord Mayor & Councillor, Hobart City Council.
